Off to Wooden Boat Show

Venture II was mostly completed (95%) last Friday and that afternoon made her way to the 28th Annual Hudson River Antique and Classic Boat Show in Kingston, NY. Here are some details and pictures from the tail end of the job…

After the fiberglass and dynel, the foredeck received 2 coats of Brightside Polyurethane Paint and 1 coat of Interlux Interdeck Non-Skid Paint. Below is the deck after the 2nd coat of Brightside Polyurethane.

The aft and port sides of the anchor locker hatch were replaced due to rot. The new pieces were assembled to the existing pieces at the shop and then dropped in as a whole piece on the boat.

Here she is after the 3rd and final coat of paint! The Interlux Interdeck has a low gloss finish to reduce glare. Hardware is reinstalled at this point.

The aftermost hatch framing on the foredeck needed to be replaced completely. The pictures show the new frame installed and unpainted.

She had been out of the water for a month and so last but not least, the bottom seams were re-paid using Slick Seam.

A re-fuel and away she goes to Kingston!! Have fun Venture II!!
