I just started two new jobs this week.
The first is a 1952 40-foot Wheeler Sport Fisherman, Venture II. The fiberglass on the forward deck has started to lift in places and so it will be removed in its entirety and new glass laid down. Along the way, there will be some repairs to any rot that may have taken hold in the plywood, deck beams and carlins. In addition, two of the hatches will be replaced.
Below are a couple of photos of the work so far – hardware, fiberglass and hatches removed.
The second job is a 1947 Chris Craft 24-foot Sportsman, Lucy. The transom and a starboard plank were damaged while underway. Both planks will be replaced, stained to match the original and revarnished.
